Use Profit & Costs to set margin benchmarks, maintain reusable additional costs and choose each store’s margin calculation and unit-cost source. Saving a margin target or cost adds it to your library; applying it to listings is a separate step.
Choose Margin targets for benchmarks, Cost library for reusable costs, or Store settings for the margin calculation and marketplace unit-cost sync.
Set and apply a margin target
Sprintr Auto Target Margins provides recommendations for individual listings. New listings are automatically assigned Auto Target Margins. Create a custom target when you need your own benchmark.
Choose Margin targets, then select Add New Custom Target Margin.
Enter a descriptive Preset Name and the Target Margin % you want to assess against.
Select Create New Preset. The new target appears in your saved targets; creating it does not apply it to products.
On the target card, open Apply to listings and choose Choose listings to select the relevant store and products. Use All listings across all stores only when you intend to replace targets throughout that scope; this option is shown for global targets.
Review the selection and confirmation before applying. Open a listing’s Profit tab afterwards to check its target source.
Save a named target, then apply it to the listings that should use it. The callouts match steps 2 and 3.
A target is a benchmark. Changing it does not change the listing’s selling price or actual costs. Applying Auto Target Margins can replace existing manual or preset target overrides on the affected listings and variants; read the confirmation before continuing.
Remove a custom target from selected listings
Use this when a saved custom margin target should stop applying to particular products. The target stays in your library and can still be used by other listings.
Open Profit & Costs → Margin targets. On the custom target, open Apply to listings → Choose listings….
Select Applied listings to show products already using the target. Untick only the listings you want to remove from it. Each is marked Will be removed.
Check the removal count, then choose Remove Preset. If you are also applying the target to other listings, the action is Save Changes; review both groups before confirming.
Allow analysis to finish. Open an affected listing’s Profit tab and check its target source and margin assessment.
The number on Remove Preset is the number marked for removal. Choose Cancel to leave the assignments unchanged.
If Sprintr reports failed removals, they remain marked for retry. If the target was removed but pricing and profit could not update, retry the analysis as prompted. You cannot remove Sprintr Auto Target Margins through this picker.
Create and apply an additional cost
Choose Cost library. Unit costs imported from connected stores are shown separately from Additional costs.
Under Additional costs, select Add cost.
Enter a Cost Name and choose or add a Category. Add an optional Cost Description to explain what the cost covers.
Choose Cost Type: Product Cost for buying or making the item, or Selling Cost for expenses such as fees and advertising. If the category already has a cost type, review any prompt about changing it.
Under Amount & Unit, choose a fixed amount per item using the displayed currency symbol, or a percentage of selling price, then enter the amount. For example, 5% of £20 is £1.
Select Save cost. The item is saved in the library; it is not yet included in listing calculations.
Choose the cost’s name, type and amount, then save it. The callouts match steps 3–6; applying the cost is a separate action.
On the saved cost, open Apply to listings, choose the appropriate products and review the confirmation before applying. Check the resulting cost breakdown in a listing’s Profit tab. Review existing unit and additional costs first so the same expense is not counted twice.
Use Search costs, In use and Not used to find library items. You can group them by category and review their listing usage. Read impact confirmations when editing a reused cost or changing a category’s cost type: the change can affect other items or listings using it.
Choose store margin and unit-cost settings
Choose Store settings.
Check the selected Store. If you have one store, it is selected for you; changes in this view apply only to that store.
Open Optimisation Margin Type and choose the appropriate calculation. Gross Margin uses product costs; Contribution Margin also includes selling costs. Review Change optimisation margin type?, check the store and select Confirm if you want to continue. This reruns analysis on that store’s products.
Review Sync unit costs with marketplace. For a supported Shopify or WooCommerce store, read the explanation before changing the switch, then use Confirm in the confirmation dialog if you want to proceed.
The margin selector and unit-cost sync control are separate settings. The callouts match steps 3 and 4.
With unit-cost sync enabled, linked listings and variants keep their marketplace and Sprintr unit costs matched. For WooCommerce, updates work in both directions: edits in WooCommerce update Sprintr, and Sprintr unit-cost edits update WooCommerce. Individually unlinked listings keep their own cost. Reusable additional costs in the Cost library are managed separately.
When the numbers look wrong
Check the unit cost, additional cost lines, amount basis, margin type and target assignment before changing a price. Missing costs can overstate profit. If a saved item is not affecting a listing, check that you applied it to that listing or the relevant variant. Allow analysis to finish, then refresh the view.
