Optimise a listing’s copy

Configure the brief, review individual fields and publish only the changes you choose.

Use the Listing Optimiser to improve one product’s copy. You can rewrite selected fields, supply brand guidance and review the suggestions before anything goes live.

Open and configure

You can also resume a saved workspace from Optimise Listings → Listing Optimiser. Choose the current product under Your listings, then follow the steps below. See Save and resume listing optimisation workspaces to keep progress across products.

  1. To start from a product, open its Content & SEO tab and select Optimise your listing. If you resumed a saved optimiser workspace, keep the current listing open.

  2. Select Copy, then choose the Fields to optimise in the Choose fields pane. Only fields supported by your platform appear.

  3. Under Copy setup → Format and style, keep Auto listing length or choose a custom length where available.

  4. For consistent wording, add Brand Voice Notes from the library or select Write a note.

  5. Expand Fine-Tune Copy to set tone, priority keywords, geo/trend focus and benefits or feature emphasis.

  6. Use Target audience, Trust & policies and Additional information for relevant, verified details.

  7. Select Generate copy and review the suggestions in the copy preview.

Copy setup controls for Listing Length and Brand Voice Notes. Callouts 3 and 4 identify these settings.

Set the copy’s length in step 3, then add reusable brand guidance in step 4.

On desktop, setup and Copy preview use separate panes. Drag the divider when you need more space to read the preview.

Write a useful brief

Give specific facts and boundaries. For example: “These are three unscented beeswax candles in glass jars. Keep the exact pack size. Use a calm tone. Do not claim a burn time because it is unverified.” Avoid adding keywords or promises that do not describe the product.

Review and publish

  1. Compare each generated field with its current version. Keep the current field or select the optimised version, and edit suggestions where needed.

  2. Check dimensions, materials, compatibility, prices and policy statements against your source information.

  3. Select Save Copy Choices to include your chosen copy in the draft.

  4. Select Review & Publish once you have selected a change. Confirm which fields and media are included.

  5. Publish the reviewed changes now, or choose Schedule and check the displayed store timezone and time.

  6. Check the final result on your store. Use the listing’s History tab to inspect the recorded update.

Auto Saved refers to the optimisation draft. It does not mean the content is live. If the review control says Save copy choices to continue, select Save Copy Choices first. If Review & Publish is unavailable, check that you have selected a copy or media change.

If the wording is unsuitable

Keep the current field, edit the suggestion or refine the brief before regenerating. Reusable brand voice notes help with tone; product-specific facts should still go into the brief for this product.

Keep a reusable brief

Under Copy setup, Copy settings lets you choose which parts of the brief to reuse, such as length, tone and brand guidance. Check product-specific keywords, facts and policies before using them elsewhere. These settings affect the next generation; they do not copy existing text or publish changes.

Use Save profile to keep selected copy, image or video settings for later work. Use Save for later to keep this workspace’s listings and generated content. For the full workflow, see Reuse optimisation settings and content across listings.
